I knew

I started at my new workplace on Monday. Brand new team, brand new area, brand new direct reports. I knew I had a lot of work to do with my team, I knew I had a lot of changes to implement, I knew I had to make some change fast, I also knew that this team hadn't been managed effectively for some time...I just didn't know the scope of the issues I was going to be dealing with.

Don't get me wrong...the team members have been good so far. I just find I'm going to have to manage their time down to the minute - there has been no time management plan put in place for these people. I'm not the kind of in-your-face type manager, but I also want to see results - if I don't see results, or even improvements, then expect to find me in your face.

I've brought home work every night this week. I've been working minimum 10.5 hr days at my office. I don't see this routine changing anytime soon. I've got an uphill battle here...but hey, it's only a 10 minute drive to work. That's gotta count for something, right? ... Right?!

Once I see the fruits of my labours, this will all be worth it. Until then:

I love my job. I love my job. I love my job.
